DaMos, also known as „El Presidente“ (José Federspiel), was born on September 9, 1977, in Chur. He developed an interest in graffiti and rap around 1991 and, circa 1995, co-founded the rap group Oschtblock Kuabuaba (OBK) with Gimma and Ali de Bengali. A few years later, Hyphen (Breitbild) and DJ Chronex also joined the Chur-based formation.

For his debut EP „Kaosforschig,“ he exclusively produced beats on the PlayStation 1. From 1999 onward, DaMos regularly performed with his Electro-Live-Multimedia set in the Zurich and Lucerne areas, often accompanied by other artists (including the Trial and Error Group) or label partners. These experiences influenced his diploma thesis (FH Luzern), resulting in the experimental film „Würfelwelt.“ The film earned him a nomination for the International Media Art Award (DE) in 2003 and was subsequently showcased in various locations, including Kunsthaus Chur, Dampfzentrale Bern, ZKM Karlsruhe, etc.

In addition to his musical career, José Federspiel is also a visual artist, music producer, publisher, and has been an entrepreneur in the field of visual communication for over 20 years (Mosill.us). In 2011, he received the Canton of Graubünden’s sponsorship award for his contributions as a multimedia artist. He currently resides and works in the Taminatal. Among his artist names are DAMOS, EL PRESIDENTE, PAPA MOS, MOS MAUS, PUNCHLINE KING, ANTIPIMP, POBEL DA VOGEL, JEAN PIERRE BLINKLICHT, etc., but most commonly, he is referred to simply as MOS.
